Applications › Interfaces & Control Graphics
A graphic overlay is the printed face of a controller, pump, test instrument or panel. We print it second-surface, mirrored on the back of clear film with an opaque white layer behind it, so the operator touches film, never ink. Display and LED windows are left clear, dead areas are left opaque, and the back is laminated with a transfer adhesive sized for your panel.
Typical examples
- Controller front overlays with display windows
- Pump and valve control overlays
- Test and measurement instrument faces
- Panel overlays replacing screen-printed originals
- Overlays with embossed keys for membrane switches
Materials, process and quantities
| Materials | Velvet or gloss polycarbonate film 10 mil, clear and hardcoated polyester 5 to 7 mil, medical-grade and washdown-rated grades, UL-recognized films; transfer adhesives for metal, powder coat and plastic. |
|---|---|
| How it is made | Second-surface UV print with selective white, laser cutting of the outline and windows, adhesive lamination, optional embossing and selective texture. |
| Quantities | One piece to prove the fit, then the run. Prototype samples, bridge quantities while a program settles, and recurring releases against a blanket order, each quoted on its own. |
| Options | Clear, tinted or deadfront windows, selective gloss and texture, backlit zones, flexible polyester for keypads, serial or variable data per overlay. |
| Who orders this | Industrial automation, medical and laboratory instruments, food and beverage equipment, electronics. |
What to send
A drawing with window and cutout locations, the panel it mounts to, substrate preference if any, environment (cleaners, outdoor, heat) and quantity.
